Renzo Gracie Legacy is a mixed martial art documentary about a charismatic no holds barred fighter from the Gracie family. The Gracies are pioneers in the sport of MMA and started the Ultimate fighting championship to prove the effectiveness of their Brazilian jiu jitsu. BJJ became the dominant fighting style in the UFC for many years. The film features prominent fighters such as BJ Penn, Pat Miletich, Oleg Taktarov, Kazuchi Sakuraba, Akira Shoji, Sanae Kikuta, and many more. It also show Renzo helping younger upcoming fighters such as Roger Gracie, Ricardo Almeida, Kyra Gracie and a host of fighters from the IFL. The film follows Renzo over a 10 year period and traces the roots of his art back to the Kodokan dojo the last great samurai school in Japan, where Mitsuyo Maeda used to study. Count Koma as he was known, then travelled to Brazil where he taught Carlos Gracie. Carlos then passed his skills on to his many brothers and cousins including Helio Gracie. His sons Royce and Rickson Gracie brought their art to the attention of the world and opened the door for Renzo Gracie. Then film ends shortly after 60 minutes reporter Scott Pelly did a piece on the explosion of MMA that was viewed by 17 million people
