Mary Jane Kelly : The Filmed Document | Intro
A Real ghost of Mary Jane Kelly (July 2006)
French author Philippe R.Welté is interviewing 3 cab drivers in Mitre Square - where Jack the Ripper murdered Catharine Eddowes on september 30 th 1888 - when suddenly a ghostly figure appears before his own eyes. The ghost caught on the film appears clearly to be a woman's figure sharing an amazing mimicry with Walter Sickert's famous painting The Camden Town Murders or What shall we do for the rent (1908-1909). A mimicry which appears like the sign that the ghost on the film footage is Mary Jane Kelly, Jack the Ripper's last official victim.
